The Sargent-at-Arms will call the meeting to order and then introduce the speaker giving

the invocation and pledge.

The purpose of the invocation is to uplift or inspire the audience. It can be anything from a quote or poem, to a short reading or prayer. It should be about one minute in length. This is not the time for a soliloquy.

The speaker then asks the audience to stand, face the flag, and then leads the audience in the pledge of allegiance.

The speaker leads the audience in applause and asks that they be seated if they havenít already done so. He or she will then introduce the club President.
